THE SCORN OF SIN

THE SCORN OF SIN

Touched by the scorn of sin, there's
A darkened place within each heart,
Zone of extreme degree, it scorches
You and scorches me, and just when

I think that's all, I'm forced to drink the
Bitter gall of struggle from this human
Plight, boarding out the streaming light,
Though one small ray pierces through,

When Christ takes the bitter brew, as he
Calls me forth from darkest gloom, and
Asks to enter my small room, opened up
I let him in, he came to take away my sin,

Gave his life, a sacrifice, with the toss of
Dice....they parted his garments as their
Own, they laughed and mocked him with
Their tongues, oh sacred head, wounded

Brow, he lay down his life for desperately
Broken men, he who knew no sin, willing
And lovingly embraced dying in my place,
God's perfectly scripted redemptive grace.
