SUNSET OCEAN
The sun sets in the west and effuses
Onto the evening ocean like hot mercury,
For a tenable moment the waves festoon
Themselves against the rocks bringing a fine
Spray of refreshment to my parched face,
Then with jocular motion and perfect timing,
They pull away to leave room for the next barrage.
