CARPENTER KING

CARPENTER KING

Born of lowly peasant birth, GOD in flesh
Came to Earth...baby, servant, carpenter
King, he is LORD of everything...

Carpenter arms outstretched and open wide
True love spanned the great divide, bound
And nailed to a rough hewn beam, unmitered,

Unplaned, you rescued me so willingly, and
Ransomed all my sin, O scourge of man, you
Brought life where only darkness, death and

Debt had been...extreme love washing like a
Flood, a new covenant in blood...mingling
Trickling from thorny brow, hands, feet, and

Wounded side, your red hot blood cleanses
Me and sets men free...so when I go through
Fiery trials, you've gone through the fires

Before me...and when I feel I can't endure,
Your loving arms assure me, you drank God's
Wrath from the bitter cup of indignation...

Suffered the penalty of sin and separation,
Clothed yourself with guilt and shame...
Sentenced in the first degree, once for all

YOU rescued me!
