BETRAYED
The sting of betrayal, while hands slapped
My face and spit ran down my brow, I was
Carrying a wooden cross through a crowd,
And faltering there along the road in such
A weakened state...from beatings and the
Cat of nine tails that ripped my back to
Shreds...almost to the point of death, then
One of the soldiers grabbed a man named
Simon...compelling him to carry my cross
As it made me stumble beneath its heavy
Weight, guilt and shame...to crucifixion on
Golgotha's hill, such sobering reminder that
Sin's price must be paid...redemption's story
Came through God's own death...victory won
From death to life, reconciling man from
The curse of sin, and separation from God...
To restoration with Him!

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 -- For I have received of the Lord that which also I
delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed
took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my
body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this
cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in
remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's
death till he come that as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
