FREE GIFT

Already bought, the gift was free, Messiah
Laid down his life for me...a treasure I didn't
Consider or measure, taken lightly I laughed
And played, then deep within...that longing

Changed, a new understanding as darkened
Clouds lifted, the curtain fell that had hidden
My shame and sin so well...a plot discovered
To take me out, the king of iniquity hideously

Offered me something equally free...just bow
Down and worship me, and I'll give you your
Heart's desire...gold, fame, and riches untold,
With power, pleasure and adoration in a really

Large dose...as you give me your praise all
The kingdoms of this world can be your great
Delight, I'll offer it freely, when you fall down
Paying homage to me...but I understood that

He was up to no good...and that I would be a
Prisoner, bound and chained to the darkness
Surrounding his name, but now, I've seen great
Light shining on my soul, and It drew me to the

Only one who could make me whole...forever
He deserves my praise, worship, and adoration,
The SON of GOD gave me light, life and salvation!

Matthew 4:1-11 -- Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

***Jesus was tempted by the devil three times, yet every time he answered with scripture. Our LORD used scripture to refute and reject what the devil offered. Let's face it, we will all be tested and tempted, and if JESUS himself used scripture, we should also use scripture when being tested, and in our daily conversations when we have opportunities to do so. The Word is active and living and God will use it in our lives. 2 Timothy 3:16 -- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.***
