SEA JEWELS

SEA JEWELS

The sea unfurled its fingers
Laying treasures on the shore,

Sometimes gently placing them...
Random tossing many more,

Some broken...pulverized, but
Now and then I find a prize.

Sea jewels...how commonplace
Yet rare, displaced within my reach.

This poem is short and sweet, and I love it! I'm reminded of when I lived in Oregon, walking along the beach picking up shells with friends, or sometimes I would walk alone, & leave my friends behind where we were staying, and head out for an early time alone on the beach, or late afternoon before dinner, while it was still light enough to catch the sun going down, glistening and shimmering across the sea. It was beautiful and I really loved it!

Whether sunrise, sunset, or in between, the Oregon coast was my favorite place to spend a weekend, or a few days off from my busy work schedule. Thank you dear Lord for allowing this Texas gal to live in Portland, Oregon for 7 years, and for all the opportunities to spend time at the beach, and to experience worshipping you in that setting. Let me never forget that You are Creator of all things, and that it's alright to be in the midst of suffering and sorrow, but that deep abiding joy can still be found, as I walk with You along the beaches of life. I Love you LORD, and thank you for always listening to me.

Teach me to always listen to You, and help me understand what you're saying, as you direct my way and strengthen me always, so that I will honor you in every way, with my speech and actions. I am Yours forever! – Cheryl

Genesis 1:1-10 -- In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called the Seas: and God saw that it was good.
