SHADES OF BLUE
Shades of blue in oceans and tears,
As cold skies drip with rain, sorrow
Falls to the earth below, though sun
Comes out now and then, says hello
To shed its light on darkened souls
Overcome by grief and fear, clearly
Messes with my mind, questioning
Why my loved one had to die...now
I'm remembering Jesus...God's Son
The holy one that died upon wooden
Cross, for a world that was hopeless
And lost, perfect for imperfect man's
Fatal flaw of sin, blows my mind why
One so pure would give himself away
Willingly and free for you and me, the
One who knew no sin, took mine and
Everyone's as his own, washing us all
Clean in the drenching flood...his holy
Blood, to any who'd repent, giving heart
To Jesus took away their sin...the great
Exchange, to be with him for all eternity.
